How to register with iLAB
CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development, and it's an ongoing process where professionals maintain and enhance their knowledge, skills, and competencies throughout their careers.
While CPD is not always mandatory, it is a requirement in regulated industries like finance, healthcare, law, and others, where professionals need to maintain their licenses or registrations.
CPD activities can include formal education (courses, workshops, seminars), informal learning (reading, mentoring, work-based learning), and self-directed study (e-learning, structured reading).
CPD help professionals to:
Improve their skills and knowledge
Stay current with industry trends and best practices
Enhance their career prospects
Meet regulatory requirements
In South Africa, CPD is a requirement for registration with professional councils like the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and the South African Council for the Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
